REGULAMENTO OFICIAL

1. DA ORGANIZAÇÃO E PARCERIAS

O certame foi idealizado e será organizado pelo professor Lohan Lage. Lohan é o professor de Língua Inglesa do Sítio Escola Papette, do Ensino Fundamental I e II. A escola SÍTIO ESCOLA PAPETTE autorizou a realização do projeto, firmando essa parceria com o professor. Além disso, o CCAA - INGLÊS (UNIDADE NOVA FRIBURGO) e a ESCOLA DE MÚSICA PITZER MUSIC SCHOOL (NOVA FRIBURGO).

UM POUCO DA HISTÓRIA DO SPELLING BEE PAPETTE

A A 1º edição do Spelling Bee Papette aconteceu no ano de 2022. A competição mexeu positivamente com os ânimos dos alunos, que passaram a sentir ainda mais sede pelo saber, pelo aprendizado da língua inglesa. A primeira banda homenageada foram os THE BEATLES. A disputa se deu por categorias: 2º e 3º anos (LITTLE KIDS), 4º e 5º anos (KIDS), 6º e 7º anos (TEENS) e 8º e 9º anos (YOUNG). Houve um vencedor em cada categoria. Os finalistas dos LITTLE KIDS foram os alunos Daniel, Rulyan, José Inácio e Sofia Botelho. José Inácio sagrou-se campeão. Os finalistas da categoria KIDS foram Alexandre, Gabriel Estrela, Larissa Vitória e Mary Evelyn. Larissa sagrou-se campeã. Os finalistas da categoria TEENS foram João Vitor, Milena, Arthur e Nicolas. João Vitor sagrou-se campeão. Na categoria YOUNG, os finalistas foram Caíque, Vitória Moscoso, Daniel e Eduardo. Sagrou-se campeã a aluna Vitória. Abaixo seguem alguns registros deste processo incrível do Spelling Bee 2022.

S No ano de 2023 tivemos a 2º edição do Spelling Bee. Depois do sucesso da edição inaugural, os alunos estavam em polvorosa, ansiosos por uma nova chance. O tema da vez foi a banda inglesa QUEEN. As categorias foram mantidas. Nesta edição, tivemos a nobre parceria de uma escola de música também, a ART MUSIC, que premiou 2 dos campeões com uma bolsa de 6 meses de estudos musicais. Além, claro, do CCAA NOVA FRIBURGO, que desde a primeira edição é super parceiro do projeto. Os finalistas do LITTLE KIDS foram José Inácio, Catherine, Heitor e Bernardo. José Inácio sagrou-se bicampeão. Dos KIDS tivemos como finalistas os alunos Rulyan, Nicole, Antonia Mozzer e Justine. Sagrou-se campeã a aluna Antonia. Dos TEENS foram finalistas Larissa Vitória, João Vitor, Cecília Pecli e Milena. Essa disputa se desenrolou por mais de 20 rodadas sem que houvesse definição, na maior disputa de todas. Sagrou-se campeã, pela segunda vez, a aluna Larissa. Dos YOUNG tivemos como finalistas os alunos Nicolas, Eduardo, Isabel e Rebecca Lírio. A aluna Rebecca sagrou-se campeã. Tivemos também a participação especial de ex-alunos que formaram a bancada do HELP - cada finalista poderia pedir apenas 1 vez a ajuda deles. Os ex-alunos presentes foram Letícia, Caíque, Vitória e Sofia. Abaixo alguns registros de grandes momentos dos alunos!

DO OBJETIVO

Sabemos que a língua inglesa possui fundamental importância hoje na sociedade, seja na área mercadológica ou de viagens, seja no dia a dia, em situações corriqueiras, como por exemplo no simples uso da internet. Buscar o entendimento da língua inglesa é buscar estar, cada vez mais, inserido no processo da globalização. Projetos paralelos como o Spelling Bee são bem-vindos, pois chegam com o intuito de ampliar e enriquecer a convivência do aluno com a língua inglesa. Além, claro, de ser divertido aprender dessa maneira – não só a parte gramatical, como também cultural, afinal, os alunos terão acesso a um tema em língua inglesa (nesta edição, músicas do cantor Stevie Wonder) e dessa forma poderão explorar uma parcela significativa da cultura inglesa. Em suma, nunca é de mais aprender, nunca é demais vivenciar esse tipo de experiência. Sobretudo após um período difícil que vivemos, de pandemia e consequentemente a reclusão, a existência de movimentos como esse, que incentiva os alunos a não se acomodarem com o básico ensinado, chega em boa hora. Dito isso, pode-se dizer que Spelling Bee é mais do que uma competição escolar. É um evento que irá agregar muitos benefícios ao aluno e fazer com ele vislumbre novos horizontes no que diz respeito ao inglês.

DO FUNCIONAMENTO DA DINÂMICA

a) O Spelling Bee (Soletrando) é uma competição de soletração cuja participação do aluno (a) é OBRIGATÓRIA, uma vez que este projeto compõe parte da nota do 1º trimestre e é compatível com os métodos avaliativos do professor quanto ao conteúdo dado. Embora seja em inglês, na seletiva não será exigida a pronúncia da letra em inglês. O aluno poderá dizer a letra normalmente em português. No entanto, na etapa posterior (final da turma) os alunos terão de pronunciá-las em inglês. Afora isso, o aluno precisa ter a noção de como essa palavra se fala e se escreve em inglês, pois o professor irá pronunciá-la em inglês.

b) Todas as palavras serão retiradas de músicas do cantor STEVIE WONDER, que é um dos maiores nomes do mundo no cenário musical. Algumas músicas foram selecionadas pelo professor-organizador. Isso significa que os alunos terão que ler as letras das músicas, ouvi-las e treinar as pronúncias das palavras.

c) Todo esse material – as músicas, regulamento e link das músicas – ficará registrado no blog do SPELLING BEE. Através desse blog, o aluno poderá estudar de casa ou em qualquer lugar que tiver acesso à internet!

d) Na disputa, a ordem dos alunos será sorteada e anotada no quadro. Os alunos serão convidados a irem à frente da sala de aula e ficarão defronte ao professor, de perfil para a turma e para o quadro. O professor terá em mãos uma LISTA OFICIAL, contendo todas as palavras, dispostas ALEATORIAMENTE dentro de 2 categorias: FÁCEIS / MÉDIAS e DIFÍCEIS. Durante algumas rodadas, os alunos responderão a categoria fácil / média. A partir de dado momento, se a competição avançar muito, entraremos na categoria difícil. Vale ressaltar que as palavras estarão em ordem pré-determinada na lista e será pronunciada a cada aluno de acordo a ordem do sorteio. Então, aluno 1 terá a palavra 1, aluno 2 a palavra 2 e assim sucessivamente. Ao iniciar, o aluno deverá repetir a palavra em inglês e ao terminar a soletração, deverá dizer a palavra novamente. O professor irá anotar as letras no quadro conforme o aluno for soletrando. O aluno ficará de perfil para o quadro, logo, não terá visão. O professor dirá se está correta a soletração ou não; e o nome do aluno será registrado no quadro com um sinal de ok ou um X correspondendo ao erro. Cada aluno terá direito a soletrar 2 palavras. Ao final das 2 rodadas, será observado quem acertou mais. Se apenas 3 alunos tiverem acertado mais, já teremos a final da turma definida. No entanto, se mais de 3 alunos estiverem empatados, teremos uma terceira rodada somente com os empatados. A partir da terceira rodada, em caso de erro, será especificada a quantidade de letras erradas. Então por exemplo: se a palavra é love e o aluno soletra l-o-v-i, ele terá especificado 1 erro (de apenas 1 letra). A quantidade de erro será critério de desempate. As rodadas irão transcorrendo até que se definam os 3 alunos finalistas.

e) Sobre a LISTA OFICIAL DE PALAVRAS: caso as palavras se esgotem, em alguma seletiva específica, o professor terá separado 2 canções de STAND BY (reservas) para utilizar. Essas canções NÃO SERÃO mencionadas no material de estudo. Embora seja improvável que elas sejam utilizadas, é importante estarem cientes de que as palavras dessas 2 canções "misteriosas" poderão servir como desempate.

f) O professor irá disponibilizar 1 WORD BOX para a escola durante o treinamento dos alunos. Os alunos poderão brincar e praticar retirando as palavras da caixa, em seus momentos de recreação.

g) Na final geral - o interclasse - cada finalista terá o direito de escolher um AUXILIAR. O auxiliar será 1 colega de sua turma. Ele poderá consultá-lo apenas 1 vez. O auxiliar não terá, claro, a obrigação de saber a resposta certa. Ele dará a opinião dele. O finalista irá acatar se julgar adequado.

SELETIVA E FINAIS

A seletiva será única e por turma.

Haverá 1 final por turma e 1 aluno (a) vencedor (a) por turma.

Os 4 vencedores (1 de cada turma) disputarão uma final interclasse.

DA PREMIAÇÃO

a) Participantes – até 20 pontos em Língua Inglesa – a verificar o engajamento do aluno no processo (1º trimestre).

PREMIAÇÕES A NÍVEL TURMA

Os campeões das turmas receberão 1 bolsa de 100 por cento de mensalidade do CCAA Nova Friburgo (Língua Inglesa), válida por um período de 6 meses (seis meses); além de brindes do CCAA e 1 medalha (ouro, prata, bronze - referente aos 3 finalistas).

PREMIAÇÕES A NÍVEL INTERCLASSE

Serão quatro finalistas (1 de cada turma).

CAMPEÃO

- Receberá 1 bolsa de estudos, válida por 1 trimestre, da ESCOLA DE MÚSICA PITZER MUSIC SCHOOL, DE NOVA FRIBURGO, podendo o aluno (a) escolher entre os cursos de violão, guitarra, ukulelê, contrabaixo, cavaco, bateria, teclado, piano ou canto; sem pagar mensalidade nesse período.

- Receberá 1 troféu.

- Receberá 15 pontos bônus para o 2º trimestre.

VICE-CAMPEÃO

- Receberá 15 pontos bônus para o 2º trimestre.

As premiações são exclusivas dos ganhadores. Ou seja, intransferíveis.

Importante ressaltar que não só os prêmios “físicos” importam; todo o processo irá propiciar ao aluno o mais valioso, que é o APRENDIZADO, a experiência de participar de um evento educativo. Esse prêmio é incalculável! A partir do momento que conduzimos o aluno a esse universo musical, ensina-se não somente a música do Stevie Wonder, mas também o aprendizado da língua inglesa através da música, o que é muito mais prazeroso! Ensina-se termos em inglês e muitos dados culturais que estão presentes nas canções do Stevie Wonder; ensina-se a influência desse cantor sobre vários assuntos pelo mundo afora. Além disso, será uma forma de homenageá-lo. Você, aluno, pergunte aos seus pais, aos seus tios e avós se eles conhecem e se eles curtem o Stevie Wonder; procurem saber com eles quais são as músicas do Stevie Wonder preferidas deles. Interajam com seus familiares e amigos e descubram o quanto que essa banda marcou a vida de tanta gente!

Estude as palavras com afinco. Reescreva-as, repita-as. E, principalmente: entenda o significado de cada uma delas. Agora, preste atenção nas seguintes observações:

- Toda e qualquer palavra, presente nessas canções selecionadas, poderá sair na lista oficial de palavras do "Spelling Bee - Papette".
- Poderão ser sorteados verbos já flexionados, isto é, exatamente como foram conjugados nas canções. Exemplo: “writing” (do verbo to write), “wanted” (do verbo to want), “has” (do verbo to have).
Desejo a você, caro(a) aluno(a), uma ótima leitura e um estudo bastante dedicado e proveitoso. Lembre-se que você pode copiar e colar este material em seu PC para, depois, imprimi-lo. Bons estudos!
DICAS IMPORTANTES:
1) Acesse o site Bab.la: https://pt.bab.la/dicionario/
Ele será um parceiro fiel e indispensável em seus estudos!
Através dele, descubra as traduções das palavras e ouça também as pronúncias delas em inglês ;)
2) Ao final de cada letra, há o link correspondente da canção. Clique nele e ouça a música enquanto acompanha a leitura da letra. Isso ajudará muito a reconhecer o som e a pronúncia das palavras. Se você conseguir aprender a cantar alguma canção, melhor ainda!
3) Estude uma música de cada vez. Selecione, cole em um documento de Word (imprima e/ou copie em uma folha de papel; ou faça pelo próprio Word) e vá assinalando as palavras à medida que forem estudadas por você.

Lembre-se: haverá palavras repetidas entre as músicas.
4) Baixe em seu celular o APP WORD CLUB. Ele foi criado com base nas palavras ditas no campeonato nacional de SPELLING BEE DOS EUA. Nesse app você se cadastra gratuitamente com e-mail e senha, e já entra em algumas opções de jogos de soletração. Recomendo a opção TYPE FULL WORD em que você pode ouvir a palavra e digita-la.
